How often should I get a comprehensive eye exam?

Most adults should have a full eye exam every 1–2 years. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, vision changes, or a family history of eye disease, yearly exams are recommended.

Our exams go beyond checking your glasses prescription. We assess eye health, screen for conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, retinal detachment, and optic nerve disorders, and use advanced technology such as OCT scans, visual field testing, and MYAH dry eye/myopia monitoring.

A typical comprehensive eye exam takes about 30–45 minutes, depending on your eye health and whether extra testing (like dilation or advanced imaging) is needed.

Yes. Beyond vision problems, our exams can detect early signs of serious conditions such as brain tumors, optic nerve cancer, diabetes-related eye damage, and hypertension-related changes.

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, a list of medications, and any previous eye health records if available. If we dilate your eyes, you may want someone to drive you home as your vision can be blurry for a few hours.
